It has been awhile, but here's an update for you. Recently, I sent in my third book. A historical romance titled Almost Wonderful, it took a little doing but it has now began the publishing process. Below you can find a short blurb on what the book is about and if you keep an eye out you will soon be able to find a trailer various sites, such as Youtube, www.adriennedavenportbooks.com, and here.
Blurb:
Ariel Genevieve Garrison, a spirited English beauty, knew what she was after when early one April evening she departed the aging manor where she lived, in favor of losing herself amongst the still serenity that embodied the flower shrouded meadows nearby. She knew that by partaking in the little endeavor she was likely chancing her father's anger- a rather usual turn of events. What she never expected was the dark stranger, whose mocking laughter cut through her evening, destroying her requisite peace.
Jason Rutherford, Duke of Thornfield, had a habit of taking life for granted and this incident wasn't much different. It was clear that the girl wasn't impressed. Nonetheless, as he stood before her in the darkness, he continued to test her patience with his imperious wit. Far more provoked by his arrogance then she was amazed by his devilishly handsome form; it didn't take long before she was ready to abandon her wayward exploit. Against all of her wishes, she contemplated the curious encounter the entire way home. Not the type she would consider for marriage, were she ever to surrender to the outrageous decision. Even so, no matter how hard she tried, she could not completely fight the searing attraction that continued to grow inside of her. She knew him by the name of Jaden, a local Englishman too charming for his own good. Still, she finds herself agreeing to take a ride with him on another day.
Upon returning home however she instantly receives the surprise of her life. Not only is her father furious, he is also prepared with a harsh announcement. She is about to be married to a rich nobleman whether she wants to or not. Already bracing herself for a battle, Ariel is astonished to the point of speechlessness when the man who turns the corner, a certain "Jason Rutherford" is the same man who, in the process of helping her with her horse, casually mocked her riding abilities. As far as Ariel is concerned, she'd as well have her sister marry the horrible man.
All opinions aside, the young beauty soon finds herself standing next to his grace at the altar, saying words she'd rather not say. For the better half of their marriage, Jason and Ariel seem unable to find even ground. The pair spend much of their time alone until, while out on a ride one evening, they stumble across a gun. This jarring event lands them in the midst of a startling misconception much closer to home then either believes possible. The only way to resolve the matter is to work together. Almost Wonderful is the story of strength, love, and of finding happiness in the last place one would expect.
To my readers, I hope you enjoy. If you have any input please contact me on one of my blogs or at my email: [email protected]. Take care!
